How to check your mattress

1. Look: strip the bed and check both sides for stains or marks.
2. Smell: any damp, sweat or smoke smell is a no.
3. Check the seams: look for tiny dark spots, which can be a sign of bed bugs.
4. Press it: it should feel even, with no deep dips or springs poking through.

Why mattress rules are strict

Someone will sleep on your mattress every night. A stain or a pest problem can’t be fixed with a quick clean, so it is safer for everyone to only pass on mattresses in good condition.

What if my mattress can’t be donated?

A stained or damaged mattress needs to be disposed of properly. Use a junk removal company or Dubai Municipality’s bulky waste collection, and check the municipality’s website or app for current details. Please don’t leave it outside your building.
